VJU Open Campus is organized as an event to introduce about the Master’s programs in VJU, and to provide information about scholarships for prospective students who hope to experience Japanese standard Master’s programs in Vietnam.
The event will have the participation of VJU council member: Prof. Cassim Monte – Former President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, Former Vice President of Ritsumeikan University; VJU Board of Rectors, Program Directors, lecturers, and students of the 1st and 2nd cohorts will also attend the event. Prospective students and any interested parties to VJU and our Master’s programs are especially welcome.
In this event, participants will have the opportunity to learn about our teaching, studying, and research activities at the university; be consulted with suitable Master’s program and career orientation after graduation. Participants will also have a campus tour around the classrooms, and our facilities and equipment for learning, teaching and research. There will be mini-seminars to showcase the research projects of our lecturers and students. Participants can meet with VJU's current students, and mingle with Japanese language and culture.

ADMISSION INFORMATION
MASTER’S PROGRAMS IN 2018
Master’s programs in 2018
In 2018, VJU recruits and launches 07 Master’s programs, namely:
- Master’s program in Nanotechnology
- Master’s program in Infrastructure Engineering
- Master’s program in Environmental Engineering
- Master’s program in Public policy
- Master’s program in Area studies
- Master’s program in Business Administration
- Master’s program in Climate Change and Development
Among these programs, Master’s program in Climate Change and Development is launched for the first time in 2018 to provide high quality human resource for sustainable development in Vietnam, in the region and around the globe.
- Total training duration of each program: 24 months (including 1 to 3 months internship)
- Training method: full-time.
- Syllabus: Please refer to leaflets of each program, or details provided in our official website.
- Language of teaching: English and Vietnamese (except for concentration of Japanese study, under Master’s program in Area studies, the language in use of specialized parts is Japanese)
Admission periods
In 2018, VJU recruits in 2 periods, with deadlines at the end of March and the end of July. The timeline for each period is:
- 1st Intake: From December 15th, 2017 to March 16th, 2018 (except for: Master’s program in Public policy with the timeline from December 15th 2017 to March 12th 2018)
- 2nd Intake: From May 2nd 2018 to July 16th 2018.
Application forms are distributed directly from Admission Office during office hours (except for Saturdays, Sundays and National holidays), or can be downloaded from the official website of VJU at www.vju.ac.vn .
Admission methods and procedure
VJU recruits students publicly and with a merit-based procedure (application screening and interview). The interviews are to evaluate students’ comprehensive capability on: basics of the fields; study and research plan; background knowledge; problem solving skills and other soft skills. Interview panel is comprised of eminent professors and scientists in the fields from Vietnam and Japan.
Special financial support for VJU students
All students at any Master’s programs are supported with a majority of training expenses. The tuition fee that remains chargeable for each student occupies only 20% of actual expenditure.
Potential scholarships for 2018- 2020 programs
Internship scholarship in Japan
The Japanese government plans to provide 60 scholarships for students in cohort 2018-2020 for their 1 to 3 months internship in partner universities, research centers, Japanese organizations and enterprises. The scholarship covers airfare, insurance and living cost at the value of USD 5,000 (equivalent to VND110,000,000/ scholarship)
Tuition scholarship
The Japanese government will provide 50 scholarships to support tuition for students of cohort 2018-2020. There will be 30 full tuition scholarships and 20 partial tuition scholarships.
Zensho scholarship
Students of Japanese studies in Master’s program in Area studies are entitled to 5 Zensho scholarships with the value of Y1,440,000 (equivalent to VND 290,000,000/ scholarship) from ZENSHO Corporation, Japan,
Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Scholarship
Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, Vietnam provides 02 full scholarships for one Master’s student from Nanotechnology program and one Master’s student from Infrastructure engineering program.
Tuition scholarships from Japanese business sponsors
Subject to business sponsors’ requirements, VJU will provide 20 partial scholarships for students from natural science and technology fields.
Scholarship from VJU Rector
The Rector scholarship is an ad-hoc scholarship for the tuition support of well-performed students to cope with unexpected situations.
With the strong support from the two Governments of Vietnam and Japan, the collaboration and support from VNUHN and top-ranked universities in Japan, VJU will become the chosen place for talented students and scientists to come and stay, to work and be innovative in a professional and internationally standardized academic environment.
