  1. What is Marketing? What is Digital Marketing?

For a long time, the word “Marketing” was misinterpreted as a form of selling or advertising. In fact, Marketing is the process of understanding your customers, building trust and maintaining relationships with them. Therefore, with some research and collected data, a business will conduct suitable and effective marketing strategies and plans to meet the needs and wants of the customers.

Marketing includes market research, product development, sales strategy, public relations, and customer services. Sales and marketing are closely linked with each other, in many times they work conjointly, however they have separate jobs and different requirements.  Advertising is just one of the small components of marketing, and sometimes it is not the most effective method to promote the selling and branding, as many people think.

Modern marketing has been increasing since the 1950s with the emergence of television advertising, which is also called “offline marketing”. Offline marketing involves many traditional and popular types of advertisements such as prints, television commercials, offline fairs or word-of-mouth marketing. In the 1990s, the term “Digital Marketing” first appeared with the growing ubiquity of personal computer and the Internet, paving the way for many modern platforms for marketing campaigns and advertising today. Taking advantages at most of the Internet, businesses nowadays are focusing on online marketing.
