Our Mission is to become a center of excellence in law within the higher education system in Vietnam, in the region and the world, where every young and talented law student can develop their legal knowledge and become law professionals.

The School of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-LS) has its long lasting history. It was founded in 1976 and named “Faculty of Law” within the former University of Hanoi, which was a continuation of the School of Law and Politics, University of Indochina (Université Indochinoise) established in 1907 by the French Colonial Government in Vietnam. In 2000, the faculty was restructured to be the School of Law directly under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). We are proud that we are not only the longest lasting but also one of the most prestigious law schools in Vietnam.

VNU-LS is committed to the highest quality standards for legal education and research at the national, regional and international levels. We also take pride in academic activities as an active forum for officials, scholars and members of the public who wish to discuss legal issues in Vietnam.

VNU-LS is the home to the most outstanding law professors in Vietnam. In addition, the school has an extensive team of visiting professors and collaborating researchers, who are famous legal specialists working for foreign law schools, Vietnam central state bodies such as the National Assembly, the Government Office, and different ministries, mass organizations, international organizations, local and foreign legal research and education institutions. Our professors and lecturers are well-qualified, experienced and well-known in their fields. Currently, the School owns the greatest number of Law Professors, PhDs, and SJDs trained in developed countries compared to other law schools in Vietnam.

The School campus is located on Xuan Thuy Street, Cau Giay District, the heart of the South-west of Hanoi, with modern architectures and convenient infrastructures. Students and lecturers can easily access to the city center and other neighboring provinces of Hanoi by public transportation.

Inheriting the tradition of more than 100 years of development, VNU-LS has grown to be one of the leading law schools in Vietnam and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees in laws. VNU-LS has been awarded the Third Labor Medal and many certificates of merit issued by the State and the VNU.
