On its pathway of development, Vietnam is facing many challenges. Firstly, the development process leads to the foreseen insecurity of energy and also resulted in environmental degradation and negative impacts of climate change. Adding to those context, contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nation (SDGs) is the world most important trend. Due to the fast urbanization together with the delay in infrastructure development, the environmental pollution and safe water shortage in Vietnam are also becoming more serious. To clarify the challenges and promote green growth is strongly connected to the contribution to SDGs as well. Improvement of energy efficiency is one of the solutions to energy shortage and reduction of GHGs to contribute for mitigation of the climate change and SDGs.
These contexts show the necessity to promote research programs on green building, to accelerate the implementation of green building, and to increase the ratio of green building project.
